講明Fixer,就係fix and arrange the visit for the trip of the reporters.

  1. Migrant Workers.
  2. Graduates Employment Condition.
  3. Canton Culture.
  4. Private School.

I would like to say someting about this trip which is also a wonderful experience for me. I’d like to emphasis on being a Reporter and an Interpreter.

Firstly, it is my first time to be a true fixer for a news agency . I followed the reporter Tomas and the photographer all over the trip, seeing their interviews, note-takings, photo shooting and so on. I did learn a lot, by seeing the interviews and talking with Tomas. We also exchanged many point of views, about politics, economics, social problems, Txxxx, press freedom and so on. I think the exchanging opinions is positive for a better China. And also I’d like to tell my blog readers (maybe no reader) that I stated my position before I geting this job to protect myself. That is I will not follow some sensitive topics, like Txxxx, Human Rights, 1×89, Hx Jxa etc.

Secondly, I fould that it is not easy to be an interpreter. During my classes, I have been told that you should start to interprete immediately when the speaker stops. So I tried my best to take notes faster and start to talk with some nonsense words, such as "I would like to say"… What I wanna say that I cannot interprete word by word, like we practice the Premier Zhu’s press conference. However, fortunately, I can tell the all the informations by my own words without missing any details.

Moreover, I would like to say the trip.

At the first day, I got up at 5:50 to dress up and took a taxi because I should pick up the reporter and the photographer at 7:00am at the hotel. We rent a car with a driver then we began to go to Jiangmen’s factory for our first station. It is a good factory as I mentioned before in Chinese. But some professional words related to the industrial field really bordered my because I even did not know the Chinese meanings. Fortunately, the translator of their company helped me for the hard words. The boss is very nice though he got a little bit angry with the new Labor Contract Law. We went back to the hotel at about 6:30 after suffering by the traffic jam inner Canton.

The second day we got two arrangements. We interviewed with some graduates of SCAU, haha, thx Joyce Lee. We hadn’t talked with each other for a long time. By using this opportunities of the interview, we exchanged some ideas. I think Joyce should choose Macau’s job, for better salary, and moreover, for self-evaluation, that more important.

In the afternoon, we interviewed with the core members of Cantonese Association, a group of people who defence the Cantonese cultures and language. They tried to avoid concerning about some sensitive topics but not succeed. Maybe, every issues come to an end in China should relate to the system or something else.

The third day, we only got one trip, to the biggest railway station in the world – Guangzhou Railway Station for asking some migrant workers who want to find a job in Canton. The questions are mainly about their salary, having welfares or not, social insurance, their future. I donno what does future mean for them, really.

The last day, we visited English School attached to Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. I should express my sincere thanks to 聶德森 and 賀永忠 by helping me to the trip in ES. We interviewed with Mr. He, Director of Foreign Affairs Office, whose words is very careful and would not speak out without consideration. Jeff (famous TV anchor in ES) and Eason, who were interviewees for us, are two smart guys and also top students in Senior 2 (Grade 03). I got pressures from them as their good oral English only in Senior 2. After the interviews, we visit TV studio. They staff there asked me if I can have a short interview with Tomas. Oh, I got an opportunities to be the anchor again.

I did not take many pics coz the trip was so busy and I was so lazy (oh, rhyme, beautiful sentence, haha). It’s so late at night, I should end my writing. I hope I can have a real experience of being a real journalist. And also, I wish Tomas’s son can have a happy and healthy life.
